Should You Invest in a Funnel Builder Now?

Getting customers to like your product or service takes time, and more often than not, you have to build on the relationship. That’s why a sales funnel exists: it helps you “scoop” up leads and as the end of the funnel narrows, you’ve got dedicated customers who will purchase your products or use your service.

And…a sales funnel builder can help your leads go from curious onlookers to loyal customers.

This is something I tell my clients at the start of our consultations: Either you can afford a funnel builder now or you can’t.

I’ve had so many coaches come to me and ask when is the right time to build a funnel. And actually I only have one solid and truthful answer: It depends.

There are many factors that come into play when it comes to hiring a sales funnel builder, and you also have to think about your financial resources as well as how badly you need it today and moving forward. This is a commitment that you have to really think about. And sometimes, “now” isn’t the best time (and I totally get that).

But, yes, I know the question runs through your mind many times. It seems like a logical step to take. Whether you’re a budding solopreneur or a seasoned coach who’s in need of a better system than the one you’re currently using, you might be wondering if now’s a good time to invest in a sales funnel builder, or if it’s something to think about down the line.

And as much as I want you to invest, invest, invest in your business and tell you that you need a sales funnel builder today, I can’t.

I want to be honest with you and guide you before you make a decision.

Before you choose to hire a funnel builder and turn your leads into customers, I want you to discern for a moment and think about these 3 points that you need to say “yes” to.

1. Do you have a solid product or service?

At the most basic step, you need to have a unique selling point. Whether it’s life, business, health, or executive coaching, you’ll need to be able to differentiate yourself and put that in front of your target audience.

However, if you’re new to the world of coaching and you still haven’t found the right niche or specialization, or if you haven’t been hired before, then maybe a sales funnel builder isn’t for you right now.

The data doesn’t lie – you’ll need to have a proven track record that you can deliver and prospects can see positive results when they come to you for advice. If I’m going to send leads your way and you’re not able to sell to them, then it’s clearly not going to work.

2. Have you proven that your product or service provides a successful result?

Most people today believe in the old adage, “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Clearly, there are many “doubting Thomases” in our lives—more so in doing business—and these people need to know that you can produce results – whether it’s case studies, testimonials or demos that signals to prospects that whatever you’re selling is worth investing in.

So let’s start with just the two of us. What can you say about the result of your product or service?

When you have a free consultation with me, we’ll discuss how well your product or service has been received so far. I want to hear what your early adopters think about your brand. Have they seen positive results? Have you considered their feedback and improved what you’re selling? Do you have repeat customers who are consistent in saying that your products or services are top-quality and highly recommended?

When prospective customers see and hear good things about you and you’re brand, then you’re on the right track.

On the other hand, if there haven’t been enough positive results, then maybe we have to take a step back. Think about it: I’ll be sending qualified leads your way and if you’re able to close them, without successful results, then it’s not going to work.

In fact, the lack of positive results could hurt your reputation.

3. Are you tired of the unpredictability of organic marketing?

Organic marketing in its very essence isn’t bad. In fact, you’ll need organic content to get some paid ads going, and these two types of marketing strategies often go hand-in-hand.

The problem is this: You’re a solopreneur who wants to have more time and financial freedom to focus on other parts of your business. In order to work on other pursuits within and outside your business, clearly you want a predictable and proven method of marketing that you can switch on and off whenever you want.

You want to fully control your business and where it’s heading, and not totally rely on guess-work and hoping that leads will see you. I know it’s exhausting, but there’s no way to go but up. And you don’t always have to do it alone.

If you’ve said yes to this, then maybe it’s time to think about getting your own funnel builder.

On the other hand, if you cannot say yes to all of them, then hiring a sales funnel builder will be better in the future rather than the present. And that’s okay, too!

Conclusion

Rome wasn’t built in a day and your business has enough time and resources to grow. Expanding too soon might make it crumble faster than you built it, but always keep your options open when you know you can start investing in expanding your business, either by adding new services or new people and processes to help you earn more in less time.

If you know that you can’t work with a sales funnel builder right now, I want you to know that it’s not a problem. It will come on its own. Use this time to prove to your existing leads and customers that your brand is something they should be doing business with. Hone your products or services a bit more to be able to get quality clients—who will sing praises about you and attract more customers later on.

You know you’re ready for a sales funnel builder when you’re at that point where you’re a touch exhausted and still excited because you know that this is just the beginning.
